The Hip Hypnotist
Pat Collins, the Hip Hypnotist, owned a nightclub on the Sunset Strip in Las Vegas where she became such a sensation that famous people (like Lloyd Bridges in this picture) started to appear in her show. During the sixties and seventies she appeared in a lot of tv-shows like The Lucy Show and in 1968 she released a record called Turn On With The Hip Hypnotist which contains (among others) the great song I Only Have Eyes For You:

Very nice Wouter!
Wouter, I dont know who you are but Thank you for posting this and making mention of my mom. Her club was the place to be in the 60's, 70's & 80's. Packed houses every night. She actually made 2 albums one of just songs and one of her show with songs. she also was in the very popular movie "divorice American Style" with Debbie Rynolds and Dick Van Dike. Countless talk shows and an episode of the Honey West show and the Dill Dana Show. Loved looking at the blog.
she also made a cable special that I still have on vhs called Pat Collins the 'hip hypnotist' Its kinda grainy but still packs the laughs. any interest? might transfer to dvd if there is thnx Marty addy is bearsyes@hotmail.com
Wow! To think I studied with her in the 70's and still use her self-hypnosis techniques to this day. She healed me of headaches! And I loved her show, but I had no idea just how famous she was! I can't wait to check out her work.
I caught an epsiode of The Lucy Show last night on Joost and Pat was on there. I was immediately entranced by this beautiful charismatic lady. The hair, the makeup, the glasses, the outfit....sheer camp genius! Sad there isnt much information about this American jewel!
I really admire Pat Collins, she did a lot for stage hypnotists and paved the way for female stage hypnotists like me.
Thanks for the blog!

the nightclub was on the sunset strip in Hollywood CA
She also had a new years eve show on TV, I watched it one year and made sure that I stayed at home the next year to see it again! She was one funny, talented lady. I am trying to find her work on DVD, does anyone have any links?
What a wonderful voice she had, too.
